Mulpha International Bhd recently completed its first
Arts for Health project under their CSR programme in
Selayang Hospital. The programme which involved older
children patients from the pediatric ward is one of
the projects undertaken by the company and to actively
introduce and promote the Arts for Health concept as
part of its corporate social responsibility initiative
in Malaysia.
"We believe in the active involvement of an organisation
in executing a corporate social responsibility programme.
The setting up of Mulpha Angels will ensure on hand
involvement of Mulpha International Bhd staffs where
we will be able to incorporate the personal values of
our company in every activity," said Mr. Chung.
The Mulpha Angels will consist of staff from the company who will be responsible to carry out the
organization's CSR programme. The two weeks project was chosen as a platform for the wards long staying
patients to express their feelings, hopes and to keep their minds off their illness during the programme.
A total number of 19 children participated in the programme with a maximum of 10 patients at a time.
The programme which involved developing creative thinking and expressing thoughts and feelings through
writing and drawing, saw the children creating two books each at the end of the programme.
"We are extremely happy with the output of this programme which was to eliminate the children's boredom and
frustration of being warded for a long time", said Mr. Chung. He also added that this was inline with the
company's business value which believes in combining the human factor in planning and developing their projects.
